April 2016 big news for internet using community is approval of cyber crime bill 2015 through national assembly. I got its soft copy; also, upload it here at the end of this article. Peoples are discussing it over electronic and print media; some are appraising it while others are calling it an end to internet freedom. The main objective of this bill is to control the cyber crimes. Initially, it was proposed in 2oo7 with certain punishments, due to strong criticism from civil society and other factors could not be approved by the national assembly. This document consists of 43 pages about protection 0f electronic crimes like illegal hacking, illegal interference, fraud, and cyber terrorism etc with heavy fines.

According to recently approved cyber crime bill 2015, there are severe punishments even for smaller offenses. You  can read details in a full document provided below, there is the short list of offenses with a detail of punishments.
Crime; Unauthorized copying of anyone’s data.
Punishment;  Jail for six months or a fine of Rs. 100,000 or both.
Crime; Unauthorized access to critical data, govt website etc.
Punishment;  Jail for up to three years or a fine of up to Rs. 1 Million or both.
Crime; Damaging Critical Data.
Punishment;  Jail for seven years or with a fine of up to Rs. 10 million or both.
Crime; Cyber Terrorism: Threatens to commit any of the offenses such as damaging critical data, spreading hate speech.
Punishment;  Jail for 14 years or up to Rs. 50 million in fine or both.
Crime; Electronic Fraud.
Punishment; Jail for a term of two years or a fine of up to Rs. 10 million or both.

Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman said that the amended “Electronic Crime Bill 2016” will be made a law from 1st August 2016 to affectively deal with cyber crimes in the country.
