Peoples are discussing it over electronic and print media; some are appraising it while others are calling it an end to internet freedom. The main objective of this bill is to control the cyber crimes. Initially, it was proposed in 2oo7 with certain punishments, due to strong criticism from civil society and other factors could not be approved by the national assembly. Crime; Unauthorized copying of anyone’s data.
Punishment; Jail for six months or a fine of Rs. 100,000 or both.
Crime; Unauthorized access to critical data, govt website etc.
