Our thoughtful friend xyz recently took an IELTS exam in Nigeria, and shared the following questions:

Listening test

Part 1. A conversation between a woman and a staff member of a gym. The woman was trying to book her son for some swimming lessons.

Part 2. A tour of a newly renovated community library. The questions were multiple choice, selecting various contributors to the renovation ranging from money to labour and equipment from various organizations.

Part 3. A conversation between two students about their trip to Norway, specifically looking at architectural and city designs.

Part 4. A lecture on the sense of smell and its importance.

Reading test

Passage 1. A text about theatres and cinemas.
Passage 2. A text about a trip to an uninhabited island.
Passage 3. Random discoveries from mistakes and unplanned processes in relation to business models and products.

Writing test
Writing task 1 (a report)

We got six pie charts about a new theatre, in two categories. The respondents were interviewed regarding the quality of performances, the facilities at the complex and a third component I can’t remember. The two categories were club members and the general public.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

People after retirement often require financial assistance. Should the government be responsible for this or should the individuals make provisions for themselves? Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
